Volunteer Management

The Volunteer Management feature in i360 Grassroots gives coordinators the ability to view, create, and manage volunteers directly from the app — no portal required. Access it from the CRM tab at the bottom of the screen.

From the CRM section you can:

  • Search and browse all volunteers in your organization.
  • Filter by coordinator assignment or account status.
  • Add new volunteers with login credentials.
  • View and edit a volunteer’s personal, contact, and voter details.
  • Add tags and notes to individual volunteer profiles.

App download

i360 Grassroots is available in both the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

  • Search for i360 Grassroots and select the app.
  • Follow the prompts to download.
  • Select Open when the download is complete.


Logging in

  • Enter your username (the email used to create your account) and password (provided by your coordinator).
  • If using a personal device, check Remember Me to save your credentials for faster logins.
  • Lose your credentials? Select I forgot my password or contact your coordinator.

Navigating to Volunteer Management

To access Volunteer Management:

  1. Open the i360 Grassroots app.
  2. Tap the CRM icon in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. The Volunteers list will appear, showing all volunteers in your organization.

Note: The CRM tab is available to coordinators and admins. Volunteer-level users will not see this tab.
 
Volunteer List

The Volunteers list displays all volunteers associated with your organization. Each entry shows:

  • Volunteer’s name and initials avatar
  • Email address
  • State
  • Coordinator assignment (if applicable)
  • Account type badge: Volunteer or User

Searching and Filtering

Filter Description
All Shows every volunteer in your organization (default view).
Coordinator Filter volunteers by their assigned coordinator.
Status Filter by account type: Volunteer or User.

Adding a New Volunteer

You can create a new volunteer account directly from the app without needing to log in to the i360 Portal.

Steps to Add a Volunteer

  1. From the Volunteers list, tap the add person icon in the top-right corner.
  2. The Add Volunteer form will open.
  3. Fill in the required fields (marked with *) and any optional fields.
  4. Tap Add Volunteer to save the new account.

Assigning Volunteers to Surveys and Walkbooks

Coordinators can assign volunteers to a survey and walkbook directly from the CRM tab.

To assign a volunteer:

  1. Open the CRM tab from the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Tap the bubble next to the volunteer's name to select them.
  3. Tap the assign icon in the top-right corner.
  4. Select the survey you want to assign them.
  5. Select the walkbook you want to assign them.

Add Volunteer Form Fields

Field Details
First Name  Required. The volunteer’s first name.
Last Name  Required. The volunteer’s last name.
State Select the volunteer’s state from the dropdown.
Email  Required. Used as the volunteer’s login username.
Coordinator Optional. Assign the volunteer to a specific coordinator.
Password  Required. Sets the initial login password for the volunteer.
More Details Optional. Additional profile information can also be completed later.

 Note: The volunteer will use the email address and password you set here to log in to the i360 Grassroots app.
 

 Viewing and Editing a Volunteer

Tapping any volunteer from the list opens their profile page. This provides the same view and edit capabilities available in the i360 Portal.

Profile Tabs

Tab Contents
Overview Personal details (location, date of birth, gender, age), contact details (mobile, landline, email), and voter details (party registration, modeled affinity).
Tags View and manage tags applied to the volunteer’s profile.
Notes Add and view freeform notes about the volunteer.


Editing a Volunteer Profile

To edit a volunteer’s information:

  1. Open the volunteer’s profile from the Volunteers list.
  2. Tap the pencil (edit) icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Update the desired fields.
  4. Save your changes

Note: Edits made in the app will sync to the volunteer’s record in the i360 Portal.

 
Managing Tags

Tags allow coordinators to categorize and label volunteers for easy filtering and reporting in the i360 Portal.

To manage tags on a volunteer profile:

  1. Open the volunteer’s profile.
  2. Select the Tags tab.
  3. Add or remove tags as needed.

Managing Notes

Notes allow coordinators to record freeform information about a volunteer — such as availability, skills, or follow-up reminders.

To add a note:

  1. Open the volunteer’s profile.
  2. Select the Notes tab.
  3. Enter your note and save.
